What Does the Free AI Visibility Audit Check?

AI tools name businesses they can find and read. If yours isn’t readable, they name your competitor. Our audit reads your homepage the way most AI crawlers do (the raw HTML, without running JavaScript) and sorts what it finds into three plain groups:

Each item gets a label: Fix First, Worth Fixing or Looks Good. You also see a preview of what AI crawlers find on your page, and your top three fixes as code you can copy and paste. The business-schema check accepts Organization and LocalBusiness, plus specific types like Restaurant, Dentist, Plumber, Attorney or HairSalon.

Two Kinds of “AI Visibility” Tools: Which Do You Need?

Search for a free AI visibility checker and you’ll find two different kinds of tool that use the same name:

Both are useful, but order matters. If AI can’t read your site, a mention tracker just tells you, week after week, that you’re missing. It can’t tell you why. Fix the site first, then watch the mentions. We check your site, not what ChatGPT says today. Here’s how to check that part yourself.

How Do I Test If ChatGPT Mentions My Business, Free?

You don’t need a paid tracker to get a feel for it. Open a fresh chat in ChatGPT and paste these three prompts, filling in your own details:

  1. “What’s the best [what you do] in [your town]?”
  2. “Who should I call for [a problem you solve] near [your town]?”
  3. “[Your business name] reviews”

Note who gets named and which sources ChatGPT links to. Then do it again on another day. Answers change every time, with the wording, the person asking and the day, so treat this as a sample, not a ranking. If competitors keep showing up and you don’t, our guide to why your business isn’t showing up on ChatGPT walks through the usual causes.

What Does an AI Visibility Audit Report Look Like?

Here’s a real excerpt of our output for a made-up site, Demo Bakery (demo-bakery.example, a fictional business we built for this example). Its homepage is mostly photos, its robots.txt blocks some AI crawlers, and it has no business schema. No real customer’s data is shown.

  • Worth Fixing Let AI Assistants Read Your Site. Allowed: ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, GrokBot, xAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended. Blocked: OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot.
  • Fix First Add More Readable Text. The homepage has only a few words AI can read. The menu loads inside a script.
  • Fix First Say Who Is Behind Your Business. No Organization or LocalBusiness schema found.
  • Fix First Add a Page Description. No meta description, so Google guesses.
  • Looks Good XML sitemap. /sitemap.xml found.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AI visibility audit really free?

Yes. The homepage check, your score and the top 3 copy-paste fixes are free, with no signup. The full report is a $12.99 one-time payment if you want every fix and step-by-step help.

Does this show whether ChatGPT mentions my business?

No. It checks whether ChatGPT and other AI tools can reach and read your site, which comes first. To see mentions, ask ChatGPT the prompts above. Answers vary each time.

What’s in the $12.99 report?

All fixes unlocked, paste steps for your website builder, a crawl of up to 10 pages, ready-made llms.txt and schema, and a PDF.

Is AI visibility the same as SEO?

They overlap. Titles, descriptions and a sitemap help both. AI visibility (sometimes called AI search optimisation) adds AI crawler access, readable text and clear business details.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?

No one can. We show what’s stopping AI from reading you and how to fix it.
